The Rookie is one of my favorite shows. I love Nathan Fillion but I would love this show even without him. The cast is great. One of the things I really like about this show is the lingo. I feel it’s pretty accurate? I like the protocol aspects that they throw in like the radio-talk and responding to a call.
This week is the week that – according to the Internet – is when most people give up their New Year’s resolutions. Beginning last year, I set out to make myself accountable to my resolutions as well as make them more actionable. “To lose weight” is always a good resolution but it has no direction. Just what do you plan to do to lose weight? Eat more vegetables? Walk? Run? Now those are smarter resolutions and measurable. They can also be broken down easier than losing weight.
This year I want to add more fruits and vegetables to our diet and let’s face it, fruit that is in season just tastes better. I know apples are in season in January/February and most – if not all – berries are spring/summer. Other than that, I’m clueless.
On the subject of keeping resolutions, I find it helpful to write them down and put that list where you have to look at it everyday. It definitely helps with not forgetting which provide its only motivation.
Right now we have two cats, so we are still a couple of cats away from it becoming a ‘problem.’ Cats are great pets. I love ours. They are fun, playful, cuddly, and just give us love – well most of the time. They like attention then they go off and do their own thing for 6-8 hours and return for food and more love.
One of the places I like to walk has geese. They are used to getting fed at a regular time every day which is close to the time of my walk. They will approach you and then lose interest when they realize you do not have any food for them. It’s funny to have their undivided attention if only for a few minutes.
A new year always seems to be the perfect time for new beginnings. One of my struggles is making goals that are both realistic and attainable. By attainable I mean that I will work towards them. So many times I have grand ideas but never put in any work to make it happen. Part of that is living too much in my comfort zone.
This year my goals will have actionable items that with every completed step will move me closer to it. Once I have finalized what those goals are, I will share with you to make it real and also for accountability.
One thing is for certain is that I want to do more comics! I love comics and want to create more hoping my comics resonate with people and bring a smile or even a laugh to their day.
